Erasmus VET Groups in Spain: 4 Countries, July 2026
July has been one of our busiest months for Erasmus VET groups in Spain. In Córdoba alone, we hosted students and professionals from 4 European countries — Germany, Croatia, Austria, and Italy — across more than ten different specialisations, from administration to physiotherapy, industrial automation, and support for special educational needs.

1. Germany: 6 Groups, 6 Specialisations
Germany had by far the strongest presence this month. We hosted 6 German groups on placement across very different sectors:
- Administration
- Chemistry and laboratory work
- Hospitality, gastronomy, and tourism
- Special educational needs
- Child care
- Physiotherapy
Running six groups in parallel, each with different training needs and schedules, is only possible thanks to a broad network of collaborating companies and institutions built up over years in and around Córdoba. For a German school, that translates into a guarantee that every student trains in a placement matched to their specialisation, not a generic slot.
2. Croatia: Technical and Industrial Training
We also welcomed a group from Croatia focused on highly technical profiles:
- Electrical installations
- IT programming
- Renewable energy
- Industrial automation
This type of mobility requires host companies with real equipment and facilities, not simulations. It’s one of the more demanding profiles to organise — and one of the most valuable additions to a student’s CV when it’s done right.
3. Austria: Mechatronics in Andalusia
Five Austrian mechatronics students completed their placement this month. It’s a smaller group, but representative of the «boutique» mobilities we also support: small, highly specialised groups where individual follow-up makes the difference.
4. Italy: Job-Shadowing in the Social Sector
Alongside the VET placements, in July we hosted a job-shadowing group from Italy focused on social intervention. Participants rotated through three reference organisations in Córdoba:
- APERFOSA, learning first-hand about intervention protocols for people in severe social exclusion, migrants, and trafficking survivors.
- Fundación Don Bosco, with its socio-occupational inclusion programmes for young people and its dedicated «Women and Equal Opportunities» area.
- Proyecto Fuente de Vida (Comunidad Adoratrices Córdoba), specialising in long-term recovery pathways and independence for women in situations of extreme vulnerability.
Participants combined the professional experience with cultural activities, including a guided visit to the Mezquita-Catedral, the Alcázar de los Reyes Cristianos, and the Jewish Quarter, and were supported throughout by Training Europe’s monitoring team, which gathers continuous feedback to maximise the learning experience.
5. Erasmus VET Groups in Spain: What This Means for Schools Choosing a Host Partner
When a school is deciding where to send its students for an Erasmus+ mobility, a month like July is a good stress test for a host partner: high volume, very different profiles, several countries at once. That requires:
- A broad, diverse network of collaborating companies.
- The ability to personalise each placement to the student’s specialisation.
- Individual monitoring, even when several groups run in parallel.
- A cultural programme that complements the professional experience.
6. What’s Coming in August
Activity doesn’t stop in August, even with teaching staff on holiday. New groups are already scheduled, and we’ll keep publishing monthly updates so any interested school can see, through real examples, how we work.
