At the beginning of this month, we had the pleasure of hosting two enriching job shadowing experiences in Córdoba, Spain. Participants from Lithuania and Slovenia engaged in immersive learning activities focused on lifelong education and traditional craftsmanship, respectively. These projects provided unique opportunities to exchange knowledge, develop skills, and experience the rich cultural heritage of Andalusia. 🎭🌍

Lithuanian Delegation: Third Age University & Intergenerational Learning

The Lithuanian group participated in a job-shadowing experience that paired them with professionals in their respective fields. This initiative offered them valuable insights and practical knowledge through hands-on participation in various institutions.

One of the key visits was to the Centro Sociocultural Luciana Centeno, where participants engaged in daily activities alongside the center’s users. This experience allowed them to understand the center’s mission of social inclusion and equal opportunities. Activities included:

The Slovenian group focused on ceramic craftsmanship, diving deep into Andalusia’s rich pottery traditions. They engaged in workshops, discussions, and hands-on experiences that showcased the blend of traditional and contemporary techniques.

  • 🔹 Gema Muñoz Workshop: The visit to this particular workshop aimed to provide insights into traditional craftsmanship and contemporary artistic techniques used in textile and ceramic design, emphasizing the importance of craftsmanship in modern design.
  • 🔹 Purísima Conchi: The visit to La Purísima Conchi was organized to provide participants with an in-depth understanding of the traditional ceramic-making process, exploring the historical significance of the site, and engaging with artisans who continue to preserve the craft. Some participants also had the opportunity to work hands-on with the pottery wheel.
  • 🔹 Cerámica Leonardos: The group had the opportunity to visit Cerámica Leonardos, a workshop located in the heart of Córdoba’s Judería. This workshop is dedicated to the making of Flamenco-inspired ceramic statues.
  • 🔹 Cerámica y Cosas: The visit to Cerámica y Cosas aimed to explore the unique ceramic styles of the region, understand the blend of traditional and contemporary techniques, and engage with local artisans to gain practical knowledge of the craft.

📍 Visit to La Rambla: The Heart of Andalusian Pottery

The group traveled to La Rambla, a charming Andalusian town known for its rich pottery tradition, whitewashed streets, and cultural heritage.
